Information

So here's some information about high school dropouts.
  • The rate of high school dropouts has gone down over the past couple decades. However, still about 9% of high school students end up dropping out.
  • The average high school dropout makes $200,000 less than high school graduates and $800,000 less than college graduates during the course of their lives.
  • Not all high school dropouts are lazy and incompetent, contrary to the traditional stereotype. Some are actually fairly intelligent, it's just that they get fed up with doing busy work and not being challenged enough in school.
  • In Michigan, they passed a law upping the legal dropout age from 16 to 18.

Hi :)

Hey, this is a blog that I made for an Advanced Journalism project. The purpose of this site is to help students who have dropped out of school, are going to drop out of school, or are considering dropping out of school. I originally planned to write a story about high school dropouts because I knew that one of my friends was planning to drop out of school.
I will provide information so that you can make informed decisions about your life. I will also answer any questions that you wish to ask. :)
